How Specia Began
Specia was founded by Dr. Jill Paslier, PharmD, CSP, FISMP, in 2021 under Paslier Consulting LLC, starting with the creation of disease-specific workflows to support specialty pharmacists in patient assessments, education, and clinical interventions. These workflows quickly gained traction among her accreditation clients while she was consulting with Integral Healthcare Solutions (IHS), highlighting a clear need for practical, clinically-focused tools in specialty pharmacy.
With over 15 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, Jill recognized the challenges specialty pharmacists face in meeting both clinical and accreditation requirements. She identified a gap in the market for flexible workflows that support comprehensive patient care while integrating into existing pharmacy systems, such as electronic medical records (EMRs) or pharmacy management systems (PMSs).
In 2024, Jill partnered with Lynnae Mahaney, BSPharm, MBA, FASHP to further develop and expand these resources, launching Specia as a dedicated brand.
Jill and Lynnae's goal is to create customizable workflows that help pharmacies meet accreditation, payer, and manufacturer expectations; document clinical outcomes; and demonstrate their impact on patient care. This vision has shaped Specia’s offerings, providing pharmacies with tools to enhance clinical efficiency, support accreditation standards, and deliver the highest quality of care.
